AVOID THESE CLEANING PRODUCTS
With so many cleaning products on the market, how do
you know which ones to choose and which ones to avoid?
They all claim to clean better than anything else on the
market. Using buzz words such as, this revolutionary
product will, or, research has proven, or, green
cleaning etc...
Absolutely Spotless recommends sticking with the
proven winners. They are household names and we
guarantee that you will not find a better product out
there for each application. You can find a list of our
recommended effective cleaning products on our web page
labeled EFFECTIVE CLEANING PRODUCTS. However, here is a
list of cleaning product to avoid.
Never mix bleach with other chemicals as it will
release poisonous toxins into the air
Furniture Polish:
Furniture polishes contain silicones that will build
up on the surface of your furniture which will
eventually require stripping. Instead, use natural lemon
oil polish which actually penetrates deep into the wood,
replenishing the woods natural oils.
Acrylic Floor Finishes:
Products like Future contain acrylic which will give
your floor a beautiful shine. It will also seal in the
dirt, building up an additional lawyer with each new
application and will eventually require a huge floor
stripping job that is so difficult to perform it would
be more cost effective to rip out and replace the floor
instead.
Never Mix Chemicals:
Bleach can be a powerful cleaning agent, however be
sure to never mix bleach with anything except water.
Mixing bleach can cause a chemical reaction releasing
poisonous toxins into the air, burning your eyes, lungs
and skin.
Products to avoid with certain surfaces:
Never use Murphy's Oil Soap to dust furniture. It
will strip the finish right off. Also, never mop a
marble or granite floor with a regular floor cleaner,
ammonia, or vinegar. It will irreversibly ruin the
finish on the floor. Always use a PH Balanced Neutral
Cleaner.
Hydrochloric Acid:
This chemical is found in some very tough toilet bowl
cleaners. Only a product with this ingredient if you
have rusty water. Hydrochloric Acid will cause serious
eye damage and skin burns if not used with extreme
caution.
